Consistent value with Pulse Premium

I've been using Pulse for a while now, and their Premium subscription just keeps delivering. This last month, I signed up for a few hobby-based groups and a curated group dinner. The matching algorithm felt as good as ever, pairing me with people who actually shared my interests. My first group dinner through them, a few months back, was a bit hit-or-miss with the conversation flow, but this one was really well-curated. The event details were clear, and everything ran smoothly. It's that reliability that keeps me coming back; I know what I'm getting. Delivery of event tickets was instant, as always. They've consistently provided good social opportunities without much hassle.

Good app for meetups

Used Pulse for a neighborhood mixer. Found it easy to sign up. The AI matching worked well. Met some new people. Good experience overall. App was simple to use. Worth it.

Decent value for a first event

I tried Pulse for the first time, signing up for a local event ticket to a workshop. I found a new user discount when I signed up, which helped me save a bit on the ticket price. The AI matching for the workshop group was pretty good; I ended up chatting with a few people who had similar interests. The whole process was straightforward, from signing up to getting the ticket delivered to my app. I was a bit skeptical about the cost at first, but with the discount, it felt like a good deal for trying something new. It definitely felt worth the purchase for a new experience and meeting some new folks.

wondering if pulse is available in my city, I'm in Austin, TX. Don't want to sign up if there's nothing happening around here.

L Linda Wright 2 days ago
I'm pretty sure it is. I've seen events for Austin pop up when I'm browsing. You can probably just download the app and check before you commit to anything.

I know they're big in most major cities. Austin sounds like a prime spot for something like Pulse. You can probably just look on their site or app to see local events without even making an account.

Hey, thinking about trying Pulse. How does the group matching actually work? Is it just random or do they actually try to put you with people you'd vibe with?

A Ashley B. 3 weeks ago
From what I've seen, it's not random at all. You fill out stuff about your interests and hobbies when you sign up, and it uses that to suggest groups. I've been in a few good ones already.

Yeah, I think it's their AI thing. You tell it what you're into, and it kinda learns. I got matched for a board game night and a hiking group and both were pretty spot on for my interests.

how does pulse compare to meetup? is it basically the same thing or does pulse do something different?

H Hannah P. 3 weeks ago
It's different for sure. Meetup is more open groups, sometimes a bit random. Pulse feels more curated, like they actually try to match you into groups with people you'd actually connect with, not just any random person showing up to an event.

I've used both. Pulse feels more focused on smaller, more intimate groups and actual 'matching', while Meetup is broader, more like a directory of events you can just show up to. Pulse also does those prepaid venue experiences, which Meetup doesn't really have.

Are they strict about cancellations for the premium subscription? Like, can I just cancel whenever if I don't like it?

M Michelle Thomas 3 weeks ago
Yeah, you can cancel your subscription anytime. I did it after my free trial ended because I wasn't using it enough that month. Super straightforward from the app settings.

I cancelled my premium last month, it was pretty easy to find the option in the app. Just make sure you do it before your next billing cycle if you don't want to get charged.

Are the venue experiences refundable if something comes up and I can't make it? Or am I just out of luck?

A Aaron Hernandez 2 weeks ago
It depends. I had to cancel one time and got a credit, but I think it's usually if you cancel way ahead of time. Less than 24 hours out and you might be out of luck, unless someone else takes your spot.

AFAIK, most prepaid experiences are non-refundable, but you might get a credit if you cancel early enough. Always best to double-check the specific event details before booking.
